Vision, purpose and a heart compelled to do the will of God are the distinctive attributes, which motivate pastor, teacher, and leader, Eric H. Jones, Jr.

Rev. Jones is a graduate of Attucks High School Class of ‘65’; Charron Williams Para-medical College; Southern Baptist Seminary Extension Curriculum, and is a Viet Nam era Veteran.  Before entering the ministry Rev. Jones worked in the area of pharmaceutical quality control as lab supervisor at North American Biological, Inc. of Miami and as general manager of Continental Blood Components covering the areas of Miami, Perrine, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach.

As founder and senior pastor of the Koinonia Worship Center & Village, his positive influence and leadership has evolved beyond the walls of the church into the surrounding communities, where countless lives have been impacted, as he reaches out to the least, the lost, and the left out.  Today Koinonia operates seven days a week and has over twenty-four ministries which include: Prison, Substance Abuse, Reaching Hands, Economic Empowerment, Christian Men of Destiny (Men’s ministry), Women with Vision (Women’s ministry) and Youth ministries.   Pastor Jones’ is known locally and worldwide through weekly radio broadcasts on WHIM 1080-AM; WMBM 1490-AM; and TWR 800-AM (Trans World Radio).  

Intimately involved in the community, Pastor Jones serves as President of The South Broward Ministerial Alliance, President of the P.R.E.S.S. (Pastors’ Recreational Educational and Strategy Sharing) Coalition; Vice-President of the Collective Empowerment Group of Miami-Dade, Board of Directors Florida Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials (FBC-LEO), and Chairman of the Black Elected Officials of Broward and Founder/Spiritual Advisor of Koinonia Philosopy Fellowship of Churches.

Pastor Jones’ awards and accomplishments are numerous. They include but are not limited to:

Pastor Jones has been re-elected, for a third term, as Mayor of Broward County’s 31st city, The City of West Park.  Some of the accomplishments of Pastor Jones as Mayor include:

A devoted and loving husband, Rev. Jones is married to his bride of forty-one years, Bloneva A. (Gallagher) Jones, a veteran school educator. The two have three sons – Derrick (Nicole), Kaniel (Sha’vonne) and Shevrin (Robin).  They are also the proud grandparents of three grandsons, Derrick Jr., Cyrus & Eric.
